"Horace "Ace" Butler was born in New Orleans, and
had been around the music business his entire
life. He mastered the guitar, bass guitar,
keyboards, percussion, and vocals. Ace had
traveled the USA creating, arranging, and composing many
musical scores and performing with many artist such as
Ray Stevens, Marvin
Gaye, Rufus Thomas, David Ruffin, Carla Thomas, The
Drifters and
"Clean Head" Vincin,
to name a few. Ace's career also included a live
performance at Red Rocks with good friend
Joe
Keel, jazz
pianist. Ace opened shows for such greats as
Bobby "Blues" Band,
Little Milton, and
Millie Jackson.
In addition to his first album with the Aces, Ace has
also appeared on James
Van Buren's "Hurry Up
and Slow Down", and "Live At Little Town Hall"
albums. Ace's tasty guitar licks add a definite
spice that grabbed your attention. Add to this,
his excitement and vocal ability, and you experienced
the feel of love and self-expression that he brought to
every song he played.
